Father of four Matt Bannell is the lucky Wests Tigers Member who will host the ‘Welcome Lote Tuqiri’ party on Saturday, March 13.

With children aged 8, 6, 4 and 2, Matt’s kids will be entertained when Lote and his family arrive on their doorstep in the Ryde area as part of a ‘Members Only’ competition held by Wests Tigers in conjunction with The Daily Telegraph.

In the most spectacular ‘Members Only’ promotion ever held by Wests Tigers, hundreds of members wanted the chance to host the Tuqiri family at their home in the build up to Wests Tigers round one blockbuster against Manly at the Sydney Football Stadium on Monday, March 15.

Members had to state in 25 words or less they should host the party.

Wests Tigers will take care of the catering for the party. Lote’s return to Sydney on Wednesday attracted the biggest media gathering ever seen at Wests Tigers.

"There was so much goodwill and enthusiasm from our supporters and members about his earlier than expected arrival that we wanted to give our members a chance to welcome him personally," Wests Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys said.

"Lote thought it was a great idea and he was really happy that there were thousands of members who want to welcome him to the club."

Matt’s winning entry read:

"Our son’s happiness having a real Tiger party would only be surpassed by our neighbour’s surprise when Lote knocks to ask for his ball back".
