I can't wait to do some damage: Thompson

Wests Tigers forward recruit Bodene Thompson says he's ready to rip and tear after a long lay off with injury.

The former Titan is back on the field after a ten-month lay off and said he spent Friday's trial against Penrith feeling his way back into the game.

"I wasn't very happy with my game personally, I need to work on my timing, getting back used to tackling after that shoulder injury," said Thompson.

"I'll get back to training and work on it. I can't wait to get out there and do some damage next weekend.

"It was only the first game back in, it was more just getting the feel for contact and hitting the ground. I'll get back there.

"I was gassing out there at the start. It was a bit different, I haven't been on the field for ten months or so but it was good to get there first one out of the way.

"I can't wait to get back on the field next week."

The Kiwi is enjoying life at his new club and says the feeling around the club is a good one.

"It was good to be out in the orange jersey," said Thompson.

"There's a good feeling with the boys in the team, they're all great blokes.

"Everyone went good tonight, Luke Brooks I thought stood up, "Big T" (Taqele Naiyaravoro) on the left edge, he went exceptional, Meaney on the right side. They were all exceptional."

The Tigers have some great talent and if one or 2 of these new signings (fringe players) can kick-on and play a big 2013, we are top 4 bound. Come on young Bodene, this is the opportunity to make a real name for yourself.February 11 2013 4:46 PM
