Players provide plenty of good cheer at Christmas party

Four Wests Tigers players helped serve up an enjoyable Christmas dinner at Father Chris Riley’s Youth off the Streets Centre in Macquarie Fields on Monday, December 17.
Braith Anasta, Joel Reddy, Jacob Miller and Sean Meaney worked alongside volunteers and staff at The Koch Centre to help bring some Christmas cheer to people in need.
Father Chris Riley AM, Founder and CEO of Youth Off The Streets, has worked with disadvantaged youth for more than 30 years in a variety of roles including teacher, youth worker, probation officer, residential carer and principal. Father Riley founded Youth Off The Streets in 1991.
As CEO of Youth Off The Streets, Father Riley oversees the operation of over 25 programs that employ over 180 staff and involve more than 325 volunteers. He has implemented innovative behaviour modification strategies to help young people deal with a history of trauma, abuse and neglect.
Youth Off The Streets opened the Koch Centre for Youth in Parliament Road, Macquarie Fields, in January 2011. The Koch Centre for Youth was named in recognition of the commitment of Libby and David Koch, who have shown support for Youth Off The Streets work in helping disadvantaged young people to turn their lives around.
The Channel 7 Sunrise host joined the Wests Tigers players in helping to serve Christmas dinner and drinks.
The Centre for Youth creates a safe and engaging environment based on trust and respect and supports young people by providing opportunities to encourage and facilitate life choices.
Youth Off The Streets came into the Macquarie Fields community in 2005, running a successful outreach program to re-engage young people with the community, education and employment.
The Centre for Youth is home to a fully registered and accredited independent school, Eden College, providing state of the art classrooms and learning areas for young people. It also provides the community with recreation areas, multipurpose indoor and outdoor courts, a community garden and nursery and a recording studio with rehearsal room.
