'Sweet home Alabama' for Rinkey

A love for their respective sporting teams has led to fanatical Wests Tigers Member Anthony Field recruiting a new Wests Tigers Member from Alabama in the US.

Rinkey Stanley, Jr, said his family became huge fans of The Wiggles and Anthony through their four-year-old son Daniel – an affiliation now extended through their daughter, Sarah.

Inspired by Field’s book, How I Got My Wiggle Back, Rinkey changed his lifestyle, losing 30 pounds in a few short months.

It wasn’t until Rinkey started following Anthony Field on Twitter that he noticed ‘his passion for the Wests Tigers’.

“Anthony’s live game updates on Twitter got me interested and hooked on rugby league and the Wests Tigers. I see the same passion in Anthony that I have in my Auburn Tigers gridiron team and wanted to learn more about the Wests Tigers,’’ Rinkey said.

“I guess you could say his passion helped me get up at 3.30am here in Alabama to watch live streaming of the Wests Tigers games this year.

“It has been awesome to share Auburn stories such as the tale of the ‘War Eagle’ with Anthony and connect with my role model. I am honoured that Anthony says War Eagle! I have had season tickets to the Auburn Tigers football games since I was 6.

“The picture (above) is from The Wiggles 2012 USA tour in Jacksonville, Florida. It was a thrill for us that Anthony took time out to meet Daniel and I. We presented Anthony with his own Auburn Tigers t-shirt because I know he loves his Tigers.

“Thanks to Anthony, I now have a collection of Wests Tigers merchandise and I wear it with pride. I decided to take it one step further and purchase a Stripes Plus Membership for 2013.

“It is great to be a Wests Tigers Member. I look forward to visiting Australia and watch the Wests Tigers play live. Until then, I will keep up to date with all the news on my new rugby league team through Anthony and weststigers.com.au”

Anthony Field has already purchased two Platinum Memberships for 2013. Like Rinkey now, Wests Tigers is his life!
