Time to put the hard work into practice

Wests Tigers prop Keith Galloway says tomorrow night's trial against Parramatta Eels at Campbelltown Sports Stadium is important for several reasons.

The tough front-rower said the trial was about putting into practice what they have worked hard on over summer under new NRL Head Coach Mick Potter.

“The trial match is important in terms of getting some good match fitness under our belts,'' Galloway said.

“We have trained really well during the pre-season and this is our chance to put some of the work we have done to good use.

"You can only do so much running at training but nothing beats actual match fitness."

Galloway said the Eels players would be just as keen to impress their new Coach in Ricky Stuart.

“We enjoy playing Parramatta and we have had some great battles over the years be it in trial or premiership matches,'' he said.

"Knowing Ricky, he will be taking this game pretty seriously but so will we. Every player wants to put in a good performance and put their hand up for selection for round one.

“The main thing we will be looking for is a good team performance and to come out of the game injury free.

“I must admit I got excited when I arrived for training at Campbelltown Stadium this morning.

"We enjoy playing in Campbelltown and I'm hoping there will be plenty of Wests Tigers supporters there to cheer us on. It's good that footy is back"

The NRL match will see new recruits in Braith Anasta and Eddy Pettybourne make their first appearance in Wests Tigers jerseys.

Tomorrow also marks the first time in the Club's history there will be three Wests Tigers teams in action following the formation of the Wests Tigers NSW Cup side for 2013.

weststigers.com.au will provide match reports on all three games as well as post match interviews, videos and photo galleries.
