Voting is now open for the 2014 Rugby League’s ‘Favourite Son’ Award with Wests Tigers’ Members and supporters encouraged to get behind the Club’s nomination, Aaron Woods.

While many fans see the hard work Woods does on the field, the giant front rower is just as busy in the community during his spare time - hence his nomination for the award.

Woods can often be found helping out his junior Club, Leichhardt Juniors, at their games and is passionate about grassroots Rugby League.

The annual ‘Aaron Woods Challenge’ is an Under 12s pre-season competition held each year hosted by the Balmain Junior League and the Leichhardt Juniors. Woods presents the winning team each year with a signed Wests Tigers jersey and a Leichhardt Juniors signed jersey that he organises as a trophy.

Often the first player to put his hand up to help out with Community requests, Woods will go out of his way to help – whether it be visiting schools or sick children in hospital the NSW representative goes that little bit extra to help out.

Woods has played 72 NRL matches for the Wests Tigers and is currently in camp with the City Origin side as he pushes for another NSW State of Origin cap.
