Wests Tigers NRL Head Coach Jason Taylor has spoken about his excitement of starting the year this weekend when the Club takes on the Gold Coast Titans.

As well as being his first game in charge of the Club's NRL side, Taylor said that he was excited to see the team in action and delivering what they've been working on throughout pre-season — highlighting also the importance of starting the season on a positive note.

"It's really important that we start the season strongly," said Taylor.

"We've worked really hard to be in a place to do that.

"We've had some solid trial form and a good pre-season overall, but we know we need to take things up a level this week against the Gold Coast," he said.

"But having said, we're in a really good place in regards to knowing what we want to do and how we want to play. Everyone understands their part in our system, which is good.

"I'm confident that if we can stick to what we're worked on throughout pre-season and deliver for the full 80 minutes, we'll definitely walk away with a result."
