Wests Tigers NYC Coach Brett Kimmorley previews his side's Round 1 clash against the Gold Coast Titans this weekend at Cbus Super Stadium.

Kimmorley, who will also experience his first game in charge of the side this weekend, said he was excited to see the full team in action following a strong pre-season campaign.

After losing their first trial to the Parramatta Eels with a severly understrength side, Wests Tigers NYC followed that up with wins over the Panthers and Sharks, with Kimmorley saying he is keen to see the team put what they learnt from those games into action.

"It's definitely good that the off-season is officially done," said Kimmorley.

"Sometimes the off-season can be a bit of a chore, but I think we trialed well in the three trials that we had. There were small improvements in all three of them, so that's definitely a good thing to lead into the competition and start to build some excitement.

"I think we're ready to start the year.

"I think the boys should be excited for the match. We'll try and make the day itself as casual as possible but by the time we kick off, there should be a bit of excitement to play."

Kimmorley's side will be led in the halves by 2014's halves combination in Te Maire Martin and Eli Levido, with the Coach saying he was excited to see those two in action again.

"They're really excited to play together," he said. "I've actually had them in two separate groups throughout pre-season so I think they're first and foremost just excited to play together again.

"But I also think the fact that they're in their second year means they know what Holden Cup footy is all about and they have an understanding of what is required.

"Te will get a chance this week to captain the side as well, which is a good opportunity for him. He's been a good leader throughout the off-season.

"Hopefully they'll create some direction and steer us around well.

"It's important at the start of the year to have good completion rates too, so hopefully they don't throw the ball around too many times and try a few too many trick-plays!"
