Despite picking up a shoulder injury in Game I, New South Wales captain Robbie Farah is still a chance for Game II of the 2015 State of Origin series on June 17.
With Wests Tigers confirming that the 31-year-old is expected to miss two to four weeks due to a Grade 3 AC joint injury sustained in a tackle by QLD centre Justin Hodges, Club Doctor Peter Lorentzos said they were hopeful Farah would be right for Origin II.
"Robbie's had scans this morning," said Lorentzos, "and he's got a Grade 3 AC joint injury.
"We're expecting him to miss 2-4 weeks, but we're very hopeful he'll be right for Origin II."
Farah was swung violently to the ground by Brisbane Broncos centre Justin Hodges in the first half of yesterday's Game I — where he sustained a Grade 3 AC joint injury — but continued to play the remainder of the match as the Blues narrowly went down 11-10.
The captain for the night went on to make a staggering 58 tackles and didn't miss one, and drew high praise from NSW Coach Laurie Daley for his performance post-match.
"I definitely thought [he was] courageous. I thought he was terrific tonight [and] that's what we've come to expect from anyone that wears the NSW shirt in Origin," he said.
The injury will rule Farah out from his side's Round 13 clash against the Gold Coast Titans at Leichhardt Oval on June 5, which will see the return of Aaron Woods from Origin duties.
Teams for Game II of the 2015 State of Origin series will be selected at the end of that round, with all players chosen therefore unavailable for Round 14 where Wests Tigers take on the defending premiers, South Sydney Rabbitohs, on Friday, June 12 at ANZ Stadium.
