Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah says that he's unlikely to take part in the Club's Round 19 clash against the Brisbane Broncos this weekend, but says he won't stop trying in his bid to return from a hand injury that kept him out of Origin Game III.
Farah spoke to the media on Monday morning, and said he'll be doing everything possible to return as quickly as possible — potentially even returning this week against Brisbane.
"[The hand] is improving slowly," Farah said earlier on Monday morning.
"I haven't done much [training], we had the bye last week, so the first day back into training today and I'll slowly increase the load throughout the week.
"It'll be touch and go [to try and play this weekend].The physio has already told me not to try and convince him to play. I think they want to make sure I'm 100 percent before I get back, and I'm still battling the shoulder injury too, so I'll see how I go throughout the week and if I'm a chance to play, I'll keep nagging him to try and change his mind."
After breaking his hand in the Club's Round 16 defeat to the Penrith Panthers, Farah said he was determined to get back on the field and lead Wests Tigers — especially given the efforts he'd gone to earlier in the year to take the field for NSW in Origin Game II.
"I don't like missing games," Farah said. "Especially here, it's all hands on deck at the moment, and being the Club captain, the boys need me to get out there.
"I'm probably not going to be 100 percent for a while, but I'm not just going to sit out until I do get to that stage," he continued. "The next month is going to be a tough month for us, so we need to stay positive and keep working hard all the time.
"There's no secret and no easy option in all of this. You've just got to keep working hard, and through hard work, the luck will eventually turn around."
