Wests Tigers NRL Coach Jason Taylor has confirmed Chris Lawrence will miss Saturday's final round clash against the St. George-Illawarra Dragons due to injury.

After he picked up a pec injury in the Club's Round 25 win over the New Zealand Warriors, Taylor confirmed that the centre-turned-forward wasn't worth risking this week against the Dragons, having not trained all week following the 50-16 victory on Sunday.

"Chris Lawrence hasn't made it for this weekend," Taylor said on Friday morning.

"He's not going to take his place in the team [as] he has a pec injury from last weekend.

"If he played and tore his pec for a game that, given where the season is at for us, it'd be a really poor decision as coaches to push him out there on the day."

Taylor confirmed that young hooker Manaia Cherrington — who was originally named as 18th man — would come into the side on the interchange bench as his replacement.

"Manaia will come into the 17, and will get some time at hooker," he said.
