Wests Tigers centre Kevin Naiqama is adamant that his side aren't far off a victory following a heartbreaking Golden Point loss against the Melbourne Storm.

Having scored the final try in his side's enthralling comeback to take the match to Golden Point, the Fijian international said he was still feeling the mental effects of losing a tough game like that, but felt that the right performance wasn't far away at all for Wests Tigers.

"We're not far off," enthused Naiqama after recovery today.

"There's just little things that we need to tweak, but that win is close.

"We took Melbourne to the death and we had a lot of key players out too, so there's a lot of confidence we can take from that game individually and as a group too.

"We're really looking forward to this against Canberra and getting back to the drawing board and training hard and working hard to get that win this weekend.

"It's not like we're getting smashed 50-nil each week," he said.

"We're in every game, so we know what we need to do to change it around.

"We've put that game behind us because we can't do anything about it now. We're looking forward to this game and it's obviously going to be a tough one for us.

"But in saying that, we're hungry for a win. We're five weeks without a win so we're going to be going down there giving everything we've got to get that victory this weekend.

"I can tell you, I'm going to be giving my all.

"It's a hard feeling to take, losing five in a row. I know Canberra are going to be ready for us, but in saying that, we're going to be ready for them as well."
