Wests Tigers forward Rod Griffin says he's proud to be back on the representative scene as he prepares to feature in the Pacific Test on Saturday for the PNG Kumuls.

Griffin, who last played for the Papua New Guinea Kumuls in 2010 at the Four Nations, has been one of the Club's best through the opening few rounds of the Intrust Super Premiership competition — earning a recall to the national side for the first time in six years.

And for the 29-year-old, it's an achievement he couldn't be prouder of.

"It's been a while in between games for PNG for myself so it'll be a good test," he said.

"To represent your country is always something pretty good and special.

"It's really good to put the jersey back on and it's something that I think is long overdue for me personally. It'll be good to get back out there amongst it on Saturday.

"It's a good test for myself to see where I'm at."

See what Griffin had to say in full about his return to the PNG team in the video above.
