The beyondblue Cup will be up for grabs this Friday, May 27 when Wests Tigers take on the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium for their Round 12 match.

Earlier this year, Wests Tigers launched a new three-year partnership with mental health organization beyondblue, with the aim of both parties working together to raise awareness of depression, anxiety and suicide prevention in Australia (read more here).

The partnership sees Wests Tigers become beyondblue’s exclusive NRL partner in New South Wales, and also sees the Club take part in a beyondblue Cup in the coming years — starting with Friday night’s game against the Broncos, who are also beyondblue supporters.

Wests Tigers are encouraging all fans heading to Suncorp Stadium on Friday to pick up a free beyondblue wristband to show their support for the millions of people in Australia affected by anxiety, depression and suicide — click here for more information on that.

Wests Tigers beyondblue Ambassador and vice-captain Chris Lawrence said he was looking forward to Friday’s game and raising awareness for mental health in Australia.

"I'm proud to be a part of a partnership like the one we have with beyondblue," Lawrence said, "and it's great to be able to recognise the work they do over the next few weeks.

"Mental health is such a big issue in society these days and also in our game, so it's pleasing to see the importance being placed on creating awareness around it."

Wests Tigers will continue to raise awareness and support for beyondblue at the Club’s next home game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium on Friday, June 10.

Be there to cheer the boys on when they take on South Sydney Rabbitohs on June 10!
