Wests Tigers utility Michael Chee Kam has expressed his gratitude to be able to re-sign with the Club after announcing a one-year extension with Wests Tigers.

The 24-year-old has played a total of seven NRL games, with two of those appearances in Wests Tigers colours this season against the Knights and Rabbitohs, and said he was thankful for the opportunity to re-sign, after thoroughly enjoying his change of Club.

“I’m really excited to get another year with the boys, especially with this great Club,” Chee Kam said. “They gave me the opportunity last year to sign with them and now I’m repaying the faith by staying around and putting my best foot forward.

“Everyone has been really welcoming, right across the whole the club, there is a great bunch of people at Wests Tigers.

“Everyone is talking about team and I think that goes across the whole Club – everyone has been welcoming and I’ve really enjoyed playing footy again,” he said.

Chee Kam’s first six NRL appearances came from the interchange bench, with last weekend’s game against Newcastle the first time he has started a first grade match.

“It was unreal to get my first starting spot on the weekend,” Chee Kam said. “Running out and seeing a big crowd at Campbelltown had me buzzing.

“Hopefully I can just keep improving each week and hopefully get more opportunities in the coming games.

“Obviously my goal is just get more NRL games under my belt and to work hard to get in that regular first grade team each week.

“I just need to keep training hard and working on the little things the coaching staff put to me,” he said.
