Wests Tigers Coach Jason Taylor says the re-signing of vice-captain Chris Lawrence until the end of 2019 is a huge boost for his side going forward in the years to come.

On the eve of Wests Tigers' clash against the Brisbane Broncos, Taylor said that locking in Lawrence long-term was something that the Club could really build on, with the Head Coach praising the 27-year-old for his exceptional work ethic and professional attitude.

"I'm really excited and very happy for Chris to see him stay," Taylor said.

"It's a really good day for the Club.

"Chris is a high-quality player and is a great leader for us. He leads enormously for us, by example, every day, and the way he prepares himself for a game is really encouraging.

"He sets a great example for the young players that we've got coming through, and that's why we're really happy to have him here for the next three years."
