Wests Tigers NRL Head Coach Jason Taylor has praised the side’s style of play and composure following their 30-14 victory over South Sydney Rabbitohs.

While Taylor admitted it wasn’t the side’s best performance of the year, he was pleased with the result.

“I thought our performance against the Broncos was better than that, but it was a good performance — very happy with that” Taylor said.

“It’s a style of footy that wins in the NRL.

It’s tougher, got more grit and more fight about it.

“It’s a win for us that’s based on that style. It’s a style that the best teams play and one that wins in the NRL, and we need to keep at it.

“The composure we’re playing with is what I’m most excited about, and then we can find some high quality plays on the end of that, but it’s what leads to it that I’m excited with,

“We come up with some nice plays for tries and that’s what you guys remember, but what we remember is the way the scores were close for a long time.” he said.

The Coach also had praise for his assistant Craig Sandercock, for preparing the set play from the restart that lead to Wests Tigers second try of the match earlier in the week.

“It was (pre-meditated) but I can’t take any credit for that. Craig Sandercock our assistant coach, that was his, he came up with that,” Taylor said.

“We had a scrum play last week that was rubbish, but I was very complimentary to him in the box when we scored that try — it was smart game planning.”
