Wests Tigers captain Aaron Woods gives his thoughts on the Gold Coast Titans ahead of Saturday's all-important clash at Campbelltown Sports Stadium at 3:00pm.

Having won their last three matches to stay in the hunt for finals footy, Woods said the team were enjoying the momentum at the moment, but well aware of the work that needed to be done over the next month to help the Club reach it's first finals series since 2011.

"Every week from here on in is a step-up," Woods said. "We just want to be consistent.

"I thought our energy was really good against the Cowboys, but the hardest thing about those sort of games is backing up the week after. This is a really good Titans team we're coming up against this week — they touched us up last time — so we're going to have to be on our game.

"There's still little things we're working on as a team but we're happy where we're going.

"We're taking baby steps, and we're slowly getting into a consistent team.

One of a few players to have tasted the experience of finals footy in his career, Woods said simply being in the hunt for the top eight was an exciting thing for a young squad.

"Coming into training at this time of the year is awesome," he enthused.

"This time in the last couple of years, we haven't been in contention for the eight — we've been thinking about Mad Monday and the festivities at the end of the year.

"But for the young blokes, to be in the situation we're in is awesome.

"It's great to come to training right now."

After seeing a strong crowd last Sunday afternoon at Leichhardt Oval, Woods also praised the Club's fans and Members for getting behind the team in recent weeks, and spoke of his desire to see another strong crowd this weekend for the final home game of the year at Campbelltown.

"There's no reason for the fans not to get out here right now," he said.

"The boys are trying so hard to get to the eight, Jarryd Hayne's coming down and James Tedesco is on fire so it'll be a great game and one that we're all looking forward to.

"But at the end of the day, we've got one of the best supporter bases in the game. I love coming down to Campbelltown to play so hopefully we get a big crowd on Saturday."
