Wests Tigers forward Kyle Lovett admits that while losing fullback James Tedesco isn't ideal, the injury won't derail the side's hopes at a finals finish this year.

Losing the fullback in the second half of their heartbreaking 19-18 loss to the Gold Coast Titans, Wests Tigers could be without the Blues incumbent No.1 for the remainder of the season after suffering a fractured jaw. Scans on Wednesday will determine the full extent of the injury, but whatever the result, Lovett said the team was remaining confident and ready to deliver a big performance this Friday night against the Penrith Panthers.

"Obviously Teddy is a big loss to the team, but we've got to get on with it," he said.

"We can't sit around and not do anything. We've got three games to go to try and make the finals, and we're just focussed on that and what we can do for ourselves.

"There's been a few games where he's gotten injured during the game and we've gone on to win. Even on the weekend, we were down when he went off and we got back into it.

"He's obviously a big loss but we've got good back up, and we'll be right.

"We've had a really good few weeks and our form has been good lately.

"There's no reason why that should change now.

"We've got a really big game on Friday against Penrith, and we do genuinely believe that we can go on with the job and keep us on the edge of the top eight."
