Wests Tigers centre Michael Chee Kam says he's excited by the challenge of coming up against the Canberra Raiders and their explosive right edge this Sunday.

Jordan Rapana and Joey Leilua combined for a huge afternoon last time they faced Wests Tigers at GIO Stadium, with the former running in a career high four tries that night.

With a brand new left-edge partnership alongside young gun Moses Suli, Chee Kam says he's looking forward to testing himself against one of the toughest centre-wing duos.

"It's a big test but those are the players you want to play against," Chee Kam enthused.

"Me and Moses will need to be up for it, but we're looking forward to the challenge.

"Coming up against players like that, it's who you want to test yourself against.

"It's exciting."

Having seemingly cemented a spot in Wests Tigers squad after being on the fringe of the team last season, Chee Kam says he's happy to have his hard work pay off with his selection.

"I still pinch myself every day when I wake up that I'm in this team.

"This is what I've worked every day for — I've been around the first-grade scene for about five years now — but to be in this team now week in and week out is so special for me.

"I just want to keep improving each week and developing that consistency too.

"Being with Moses [Suli] too on that edge has been great — he's still so young.

"I think he's going to be a future star with what he's done already."
