Wests Tigers vice-captain Chris Lawrence says the team is staying positive and ready to bounce back this Sunday against the St. George-Illawarra Dragons.
“The boys are trying to stay positive, it’s been a tough few weeks particularly with a couple heavy losses the week before," he said.
“For us it’s trying to stay positive, trying to get the individual preparation right.
“We could’ve played smarter in the second half last week; we had a lot of ball that first half against the Storm and at times we didn’t capitalise on all those opportunities,” Lawrence said.
“We need to learn to play smarter, particularly when that momentum swings and we don’t have that share of the ball.”
Talking about Interim Head Coach Andrew Webster, the veteran back-rower said the new coach had brought a breath of fresh energy to the team during the week.
“He’s really enthusiastic Webby, he’s great on the training field and before games," he said.
“Everyone else got to see the energy he brings and the passion and enthusiasm he has on the sidelines.”
Looking ahead at the weekend and taking on a strong Dragons pack, Lawrence previews what the team is prepared for.
“They’re playing great footy their forward pack is really leading, for us it’s a big challenge especially for our forwards," he said.
“We need to put our heads down and get a win, it’s the least we can do to give our fans and members a bit of joy after a tough few weeks and to try and get our season back on track.”
