Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership side have gone down 48-6 to the Penrith Panthers in their Round 19 clash on Sunday afternoon at St. Mary's Leagues Stadium.

On a tough afternoon for the visitors, it was a dominant attacking performance from Penrith that paved the way for victory — running in nine tries to one in a disappointing defeat.

Penrith began the game with a flying start with hooker Wayde Egan and Maika Sivo crossing in the opening 10 minutes, with Darren Nicholls converting to give Penrith a 12-0 lead.

Viliami Kikau continued his impressive form this season with tries in the 24th and 28th minute, with Nicholls again adding the extras to give Penrith a stunning 24-0 advantage.

Wests Tigers tried to hit back before the break with several attacking opportunities, but couldn't find the final pass needed to unlock the home side's gritty defence.

That would prove costly as Luke Garner was sent to the sin-bin for dissent and Nathan Milone was put on report — allowing Penrith to continue their first half dominance as Kaide Ellis pushed past the defence to score, giving the home side a 30-0 half-time lead.

It was more of the same in the second half for Penrith as Christian Crichton was set up for an easy try, but Nicholls first missed conversion of the day saw the scoreline remain at 34-0.

Tries to Corey Waddell and Sivo pushed the lead to 44-0 midway through the second half, before Jordan Grant found a gap in the Panthers' defence with 10 minutes remaining to get the visitors on the board. Bayley Sironen added the extras to take the scoreline to 44-6, before Sivo completed his hat-trick in the final minutes to make it 48-6.

Wests Tigers will look to hit back next Sunday, July 23 when they take on the Wentworthville Magpies at Ringrose Park as they look to get off the bottom of the ISP ladder.
