Wests Tigers hooker Matt McIlwrick says knowing a win is just around the corner is keeping the team motivated with just six games remaining of the 2017 regular season.

After a heartbreaking 17-16 loss to the Eels last Sunday, McIlwrick said the unpredictable nature of the NRL gave the team belief they could end the season on a positive note.

“You can count how many games we should have won, but at the end of the day that’s the NRL and that’s what makes it so exciting," McIlwrick said.

“A week is a long time in football whether that be good or bad. A win for us is just around the corner, and we're working hard for that and we will get there.”

“It’s not like our attitude has changed from round one.

“We still train hard and challenge each other and try and get the best out of each other.

“We want to beat some teams and win some games.

“We want to finish the season on a high and hopefully we will do so.
