Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that forward Tim Grant has extended his stay at the Club until at least the end of the 2018 season.

The 29-year-old has played 39 games for Wests Tigers since joining the club in 2015, with his career total at 182 games since his first-grade debut at Penrith in 2007.

A former New South Wales and City Origin representative, Grant has been a vital cog in the Wests Tigers forward pack since his arrival, and said he was excited to be able to extend his stay at the club for a further year.

“These are exciting times ahead here at Wests Tigers,” said Grant.

“I think we’ve made some real progress in the time that I’ve been here, we’ve seen a lot of growth throughout the club, there are some great young guys coming through and that’s exciting for everyone involved. We’ve also got a lot a lot of talent coming to the club and are definitely heading in the right direction.

“As your career goes on and you come and go through rep football and that sort of stuff you look for different things that stimulate you,” he said. “For me helping young guys day in, day out, with the little things in their game is what stimulates me to come and do my best everyday.

Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary said that Tim’s experience was a valuable asset to the club.

“Tim’s experience is incredibly important as we head into this exciting new phase for the club,” said Cleary. “He’s an important member of our forward pack and it’s been great to see him continue to develop his game this year.

“His commitment to Wests Tigers, both on and off the field, cannot be understated and I look forward to working with him over the coming season,” said Cleary.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe echoed Cleary’s sentiments, praising the importance of Grant’s leadership.

“Tim’s maturity, professionalism and mentorship with our younger players is something that adds value to Wests Tigers not only on the field but off it as well,” said Pascoe.

“He’s an outstanding young man that we love having at this club.”

Be there for our final Campbelltown game of season 2017 as we take on the North Queensland Cowboys on August 25!
