Aaron Woods has ended a strong season at Wests Tigers by being named the 2017 Dally M Prop of the Year at tonight’s Dally M Awards night at The Star, Sydney.

After missing out on the award last year to Melbourne’s Jesse Bromwich, Woods picked up the award for the second time in his career tonight, having previously won it in 2015.

The forward averaged an impressive 162.7 metres and 28 tackles in 2017, while also featuring in the all three games of the Blues' State of Origin campaign and captained the Prime Minister’s XIII side to a commanding win over Papua New Guinea last weekend.

Woods missed playing for the Kangaroos during the year due to injury, but will again feature in the green and gold in the upcoming Rugby League World Cup — likely to lead the line once more as Mal Meninga’s side looks to defend the trophy won back in 2013.
