Wests Tigers Moving Forward
This program is aimed at using the benefits of physical activity to improve the mental health and wellbeing of those in disadvantaged groups.
The program teaches participants about exercise, teamwork and positive self-talk to help tackle physical and mental health issues.
Wests Tigers currently work with:
- The Exodus Foundation — Meets the needs of Sydney's poor and homeless by connecting each guest with the professional services they need to break their cycle of poverty.
- We Help Ourselves (WHOS) — Provides a range of evidenced-based therapeutic programs and projects targeting individuals seeking a treatment goal of abstinence.
- South Western Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Services — Provides quality mental health care to residents across south western Sydney. The services provide assessment and treatment for a range of mental health needs. Their priorities are early intervention and promoting mental health in our community.
Cara Care Program
This program involves participants of Cara Care, an organisation working with children who have experienced trauma at home by providing positive role models and a safe environment for the children to get physical activity in a social setting.
