It wont ever make the highlight reels but the try James Tedesco scored at Campbelltown last week will always be in his mind.

The try occurred just before half-time in the NSW Cup trial match against Wentworthville. For those who saw it, it was just a try in a trial match but for Tedesco, it meant more than that. The smile on his face was priceless.

To cross for that try was a very good feeling. Its been a year since I last scored, Tedesco said.

After what I have been through, it is just good to be back out on the field. I couldnt stop smiling.

A try and two trials later and Tedesco is feeling confident about the left knee that ended his season in his NRL debut at Leichhardt Oval in round one last year.

Tedesco takes another step forward when he lines up for Wests Tigers in the NSW Cup trial against Newtown at Allianz Stadium tomorrow. Like last week, Tedesco will play a long stint before being rested for a run in the Foundation Cup against the Sydney Roosters a few hours later.

Im just looking to play more minutes. Im feeling pretty confident at the moment, Tedesco said.

The knee is coming along well. During the game, I dont even think about it. It is feeling good, feeling solid.

To get through these trials and to get through round one would certainly boost my confidence.

Tedesco admits he has plenty of ground to make up on Tim Moltzen, who will start at full-back in the Foundation Cup.

Im not really pushing for NRL selection in round one. Im looking at getting a few good games under my belt for Wests Tigers in the NSW Cup, Tedesco said.

If I happen to play some good footy and get the call up to play NRL a few rounds into the season, then that would be great.
