Wests Tigers suffered a 50-12 loss to Penrith Panthers at Centrebet Stadium today in round 13 of the NYC competition.


The Panthers opened the scoring in the 11th minute when half-back Tony Evans offloaded a pass for full-back Kieran Moss to juggle the ball to score next to the posts. Winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak converted the try for a 6-0 lead.


Penrith were in again two minutes later when a break by Moss saw winger Waqa Blake race 30 metres to score untouched. Watene-Zelezniak failed to convert for a 10-0 lead after 16 minutes.


The home side bombed a certain try in the 23rd minute when winger Watene-Zelezniak spilt the ball with the tryline in front of him.


Wests Tigers were then left a player short when full-back Delouise Hoeter was sin-binned for holding down a Penrith player too long in a tackle.


The Panthers took advantage when Brendan Attwood spun out of a tackle to score next to the posts. Watene-Zelezniak converted the try for a 16-0 lead after 29 minutes.


Wests Tigers half-back Luke Brooks was put on report for a shoulder charge in the 31st minute.


Penrith stretched their lead to 20-0 when Watene-Zelezniak dived over in the left corner after a play down the short side by centre Nick Walker. Watene-Zelezniak converted the try for a 22-0 lead after 34 minutes.


The score remained that way till half-time.


2nd Half


Penrith continued their tryscoring feats when Watene-Zelezniak finished off a great break by Moss to score behind the posts. Watene-Zelezniak converted his own try for a 28-0 lead after 49 minutes.


Attwood scored his second try to make it 32-0. Watene-Zelezniak converted the try for a 34-0 lead.


Wests Tigers got on the board when a grubber kick by Matt Mulcahy saw Brooks race through to score next to the posts. Manania Rudolph converted the try for a 34-6 scoreline.


Brooks then grabbed his second try when he stepped past three defenders to score. Rudolph converted for a 34-12 scoreline.


Penrith then went to a 38-12 lead when second-rower Iszah Yeo scored. Watene-Zelezniak converted the try for a 40-12 lead after 65 minutes.


The Panthers then went to a 44-12 lead when prop Michael Ross charged down a clearing kick from Brooks to race 50 metres to score. Watene-Zelezniak's conversion attempt hit the post from in front.


Penrith reached the 50 points mark when Moss scored in the final minute for Watene-Zelezniak to convert from in front.
