The Wests Tigers NRL side received plenty of attention in their game against the Raiders on Saturday night for wearing colourful socks which were a part of our Junior League Appreciation Round celebrations.
Each NRL player pulled on their Junior Clubs socks in the game at Campbelltown Sports Stadium to recognise the importance that grassroots footy plays in Rugby League.
It proved a good omen, with the side recording a memorable 17-12 victory. Earlier in the evening, 15 Western Suburbs Junior League Clubs participated in the annual lap of honour with over 2000 parents and children taking part in the March Past.
Clubs embraced the March Past concept with colourful banners, mascots and even drums as the strong representation did a lap of the field following the Under 20s match.
Liverpool Catholic Club was awarded the Loudest and Proudest award on the night, winning a Wests Tigers Money cant buy experience for the Round 20 match against the Manly Sea Eagles.
As well as the Junior League Appreciation celebrations, Wests Tigers were awarded the annual League Legends trophy that celebrates the 1989 Grand Final between Balmain and Canberra.
The launch of the new Merchandise promotion, We score, you score also featured following the match, with each Wests Tigers try earning 5% (to a maximum of 30%) off all purchases.
Members and supporters were quick to snap up the 15% off (three tries) deal, which ended at 8am this morning.
