Aiden McPherson has experienced his fair share of tough battles over the years but he had plenty to smile about last week following a visit to Wests Tigers training.

McPherson is in remission from Hodgkins Lymphomia and was invited along to training for a photo shoot with Wests Tigers forward Adam Blair.

Blair and McPherson met earlier in the year during the filming of an advertisement for Footy Colours Day, which will help raise money for the Fight Cancer Foundation.

The Toongabbie Christian School student watched on as the Wests Tigers went through their paces last week and was thrilled to meet the team when training concluded.

It was great to see Adam again and meet the other Wests Tigers players, McPherson said.

I had an awesome time, it really was a great afternoon.

Blair was more than happy to help launch the Footy Colours Day and spend time with 15-year-old Aiden again.

I had a great time filming the commercial and Aiden is a great young man, he has had to overcome a lot, Blair said.

Its an important message to get out there to help raise awareness for this program.

Along with his mother Diana, Aiden had a tour of the facilities at Concord Oval and had his Wests Tigers training t-shirt signed by the NRL squad.

Footy Colours Day is the first Friday in September this year and involves coming to work in your teams colours.
