Wests Tigers have today granted both Ben Murdoch-Masila and Taqele Naiyaravoro immediate releases from their playing contracts.
Murdoch-Masila will pursue an opportunity with the Penrith Panthers, signing a contract for the remainder of 2014 and also the 2015 season.
The 23-year-old forward played 52 NRL games for the Wests Tigers after making his NRL debut against Sydney Roosters in Week 1 of the 2010 final series.
“I have really enjoyed my time at the Wests Tigers and I’m thankful for the opportunity the Club gave me over my five years here,” Murdoch-Masila said.
“The Wests Tigers have a lot of promising young kids coming through the grades and I feel as though I need to take up the opportunity Penrith have given me.”
NSW Cup winger Taqele Naiyaravoro will join Super Rugby Club, NSW Waratahs immediately.
“I thank both players for their efforts during their time at the Club,” Wests Tigers Head Coach Mick Potter said.
“Both Ben and Taqele have been presented with an opportunity to further develop their respective careers and I wish them well in the future,” he said.
