Paul Whatuira has been named centre in Wests Tigers’ Team of 15 Years.

After stints with the Auckland Warriors, Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers — with whom he won a premiership in 2003 — Whatuira joined Wests Tigers at the start of the 2005 season. He made his Club debut against the Parramatta Eels in Round 1, and would go on to play 27 games in his first season with the club — including the Club’s Grand Final win over the North Queensland Cowboys.

The centre would play a total of 58 games with the Club before heading to English Super League at the end of the 2007 season, where he played for three years before returning for one match with the Parramatta Eels in 2011.

Whatuira scored 30 tries in total for Wests Tigers between 2005 and 2007.
