In the next instalment of Wests Tigers' Get to Know a Corporate Partner series we hear from Lee Hagipantelis from Brydens Lawyers.

1. Tell us a bit about what Brydens Lawyers does?

For over 40 years Brydens Lawyers, one of New South Wales largest and leading law firms, has been providing expert legal advice and representation to clients in a broad range of legal matters. Brydens Lawyers initially established its representation as the premier litigation firm prosecuting compensation claims on behalf of clients. Brydens Lawyers was able to leverage off that expertise to expand its range of services so that now it can provide affordable and expert legal advice and representation to its clients with respect to all their legal needs. Whether it be a claim for compensation or a family law dispute or something as simple as a residential conveyance a client need not look further than Brydens Lawyers when they require a lawyer. Brydens Lawyers was initially, and deliberately, established in the South Western Suburbs of Sydney. It was recognised early on that with the growth and development of the South West a large and capable law firm would be well placed to service the needs of the community. That philosophy remains in place today. Brydens Lawyers head office is situated in Liverpool with offices throughout NSW. The philosophy of Brydens Lawyers has always been to ensure the clients interests are paramount. Although a large law firm Brydens Lawyers remains committed today, as it was 40 years ago, to ensuring that each client is provided with the level of personal service they are entitled to.

2. Tell us who is part of the team?

I am the Principal of Brydens Lawyers. I joined the firm in 1988 as an employed solicitor and became a partner in 1994. In 2012 I assumed full ownership of Brydens Lawyers. Although Principal of Brydens Lawyers I remain actively involved, in a very hands-on way, in the management not only of the firm’s affairs but also the firm’s clients. I remain involved in the seeing of clients, the providing of advice and attending to client affairs. Of course I would be unable to do this without the support of an expert team not only of lawyers but also management. I am more than ably assisted by my General Manager, Ms Vicki Lang. In her role as General Manager Vicki is responsible for the day-to-day operational matters concerning my firm as well as overseeing all marketing, business development and corporate partnerships.

3. What are the plans for Brydens Lawyers this year? Any upcoming exiting events or new products this year

Brydens Lawyers continues to grow. It is always expanding its areas of expertise so as to be able to provide all its clients a complete one-stop service so far as their legal needs are concerned. Brydens Lawyers are very excited about leveraging on the corporate partnerships which it has successfully established with brand icons such as Wests Tigers. There are presently proposals on foot for the purpose of ensuring that members of the Wests Tigers are provided particular privileges when engaging Brydens Lawyers. For example, I am happy to announce that Brydens Lawyers will prepare and provide a Will for all 2014 Wests Tigers members at a cost of $20.14. Additionally, for residential conveyancing all Wests Tigers members are entitled to a 10% discount on the ordinary rate for both buying and selling of property.

4. How long have you been part of the Wests Tigers corporate family?

This is the first year in which Brydens Lawyers has been a part of the Wests Tigers corporate family. It has been a long time coming. I have been a devoted fan of the Tigers for many years. The initial introduction to the Wests Tigers was made by Steve “Blocker” Roach. This led to meetings with Grant Mayer and his team which ultimately resulted in a formalisation of the relationship between Brydens Lawyers and Wests Tigers. It is a relationship which I foresee extending well into the future.

5. How can Wests Tigers Corporate Partners get involved with Brydens Lawyers?

Given the wide range of legal services that Brydens Lawyers now provides it is available to all Wests Tigers corporate partners for the purpose of providing expert legal advice and representation as and when they may require. With a large commercial division providing specialised advice and representation with respect to commercial real estate, leasing, taxation matters and the like Brydens Lawyers are perfectly positioned to assist Wests Tigers corporate partners. It is our view that it is important that corporate partners acknowledge and utilise the relevant expertise that exists within the Wests Tigers corporate family and to that end I will be actively pursuing any opportunity to sit down with other corporate partners to explore all avenues of cooperation and opportunity.

6. Favourite Wests Tigers moment so far in 2014?

It would be difficult to pinpoint one particular Wests Tigers moment in 2014 which I would regard as a favourite. What I do regard highly however is the air of excitement and anticipation that surrounds the team at the moment, particularly with regards to the younger players who have been recently graded and in my view represent the future of the club. I speak of players such as Luke Brooks, David Nofoaluma, Tim Simona, Mitchell Moses and James Tedesco. It is genuinely exciting to see the future stars of our game commence their careers. Such excitement is of course enhanced when those stars adorn the black, white and orange. It would however be remiss of me not to acknowledge the fact that being the number one ticket holder and meeting the Wests Tigers Team of 15 Years are genuinely cherished opportunities.
