Wests Tigers forward Matthew Lodge has been named in the Junior Australian Kangaroos train-on squad for the upcoming Junior Test against New Zealand.

The match will be played on Saturday, October 18 at Mount Smart Stadium, Auckland.

Lodge joined Wests Tigers halfway through the year after a mid-season release from the Melbourne Storm, and went on to make his first-grade debut for the Club against the Penrith Panthers in Round 17. The 19-year-old would play a total of four NRL games in 2014, before returning to the Club's NYC Holden Cup team for the 2014 finals series.

A former Australian Schoolboys product who was named in the 2013 NYC Team of the Year, Lodge also played for New South Wales U/20's team earlier this year.

Each week, players will be added to the train-on squad after NYC teams are eliminated from the Holden Cup finals series. A final squad will then be announced on October 5.
