Wests Tigers forward Aaron Woods has capped off a strong season by winning the Dally M Prop of the Year Award at tonight’s Dally M Awards at The Star.
Woods, who missed four Club games in season 2015, beat fellow forwards Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Jesse Bromwich and David Klemmer to the prestigious award.
In a season that saw him chalk up his 100th first-grade appearance, Woods captained the Club on four occasions during the year as he led the forward pack with continued energy and success. The 24-year-old averaged 163.4 metres, 29.95 tackles and 14.5 hit-ups per game throughout the season — more than any other forward at the Club.
Woods featured heavily in the representative arena — finishing the State of Origin series as one of New South Wales’ best players — and picked up the Daily Telegraph’s People’s Choice Award as a result at the recent Brad Fittler Medal Awards night.
He also represented Australia for the second time in his career, starting in the front row for the ANZAC Test against New Zealand in May.
