Wests Tigers’ utility Jordan Rankin spoke to ABC Grandstand today following his side’s 20-12 win over Newcastle yesterday at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
Rankin was one of the side’s best players, slotting in a fullback where he made 186 metres, one line-break, one try-assist and two tackle-busts.
The 24-year-old spoke to Andrew Moore, Matthew Elliot and Andrew Ryan about the side striving for consistency.
“It all comes down to pride in your own performances,” Rankin said. “We are a first grade outfit and to come away with really good wins against some really good sides is a good sign for us as a Club moving forward.
“But I think it’s the consistency of teams like the Broncos, Cowboys and Melbourne – people probably get sick of everyone talking about them - but they are the benchmark of the competition because they are so consistent with how they play week in, week out.
“When you look at the best players and teams in the game, their best performance aren't that far from their worst performance.
“That’s something we need to work really hard on as a team – to make sure we are pushing each other to the extent that we know we are going to get the best out of each other week in, week out,” he said.
