They might be out of the hunt for finals football, but Wests Tigers forward Kyle Lovett says he expects the Parramatta Eels to still present a tough opposition this weekend when the two sides to battle at ANZ Stadium on Saturday evening.

Lovett said the performances of Parramatta this season despite losing several key players was admirable, and that they were going to present a tough challenge again this week.

"It's a very big game for us," Lovett said of Saturday's match.

"They're a great side after everything that's happened to them. They keep coming out and playing great footy and they did again on the weekend, so we've got to be prepared for that.

"It's been a hard year for them, but we haven't really talked about it all. They're a great team regardless — they defend really well and are really aggressive so we're expecting a big game."
