Wests Tigers forward Joel Edwards says the team are in good spirits heading into a Round 13 clash against the in-form St. George-Illawarra Dragons this Saturday.

Answering questions about the team’s time away on camp last weekend, Edwards stated this week at training has been improved by the time away and has helped the team regain focus.

“Yeah (the week away was) really good," he said.

"We got some work done last week and rested over the weekend.

"So the first two days of training this week has been good off the back of that.

“I think it was about bonding better and getting to know each other more. We've done that before, but it was really helpful to do it again. Hopefully we can reap the benefits from that!"

Speaking about team motivation after a tough run of defeats, Edwards said it was all about putting on the best performance you can each week and that finals was still on the cards.

“I think wherever you get your motivation from, playing footy each week you’ve got to put your best foot forward,” he said. “Being professional and playing the your best each week — that’s more important to each and every member of the squad.”

“Every day you turn up you work towards getting into September and October, if you’re not thinking that way then its time to have a look at yourself.”
