New recruit Malakai Watene-Zelezniak says the entire team are focussed on ending 2017 on a positive note despite a 2017 finals berth unlikely for Ivan Cleary's side.

Having only joined the Club mid-season from the Penrith Panthers, the winger said he could already see an improved attitude in the squad since his arrival, and said the signs were certainly there for a positive Wests Tigers future in the weeks and years to come.

"The vibe around training, and training itself is definitely working for our best," he said.

"The boys can feel and see that for themselves.

"It's just a good vibe going towards the end of the year and in to next year too.

"I think all of us are trying to work on our own individual performance — bringing your best games each week — so if we all do that, the whole team will do well.

"That's what we're focussing on for the rest of the season — finishing strong."
