Wests Tigers captain Aaron Woods says the entire team are united in their desire to end the 2017 season strong after likely missing out on a spot in the finals series.

While recognising there were different motivations for players who are moving on at the end of the year, the skipper emphasised the desire to finish the year strong remained the same.

"We've still got a lot to play for," Woods enthused.

"The new guys that have come in, the Coach — we just want to finish the season well. There's a couple of blokes leaving at the same time, and you want to go out on your best merit.

"We're definitely building on what we've been delivering. We played really well against Manly for 50,60 minutes but we just couldn't close out the game and they did it really well.

"We've just got to keep improving on the little things like that.

"The team is gaining more experience each week."
