Sydney's Allianz Stadium.

NRL Chief Executive, Todd Greenberg has welcomed bi-partisan State Government support of plans to re-build both Parramatta and ANZ Stadiums.

Mr Greenberg made the comments after New South Wales State Opposition Leader, Luke Foley confirmed his support for the re-build of both stadiums during an interview on 2GB's Ray Hadley program on Wednesday.

Mr Greenberg went on to confirm that investment in stadia by the New South Wales Government would ensure that the state would remain attractive and competitive in securing matches for years to come.

"Collectively, we have an opportunity in Western Sydney, starting with Parramatta Stadium and including ANZ Stadium, to implement world-class stadia and ensure that New South Wales is a leader when it comes to providing the best seats and the best live experiences for rugby league fans," Mr Greenberg said.

"Population throughout Western Sydney is growing at rapid speed and the support from Mr Foley today to witness the modernisation of both Parramatta and ANZ Stadiums is great to hear.

"A modernised Parramatta Stadium will be the first to open in season 2019 and a modernised ANZ Stadium won't be far behind.

"It's fantastic to have the support of both sides of Government and I thank the Berejiklian Government for their resolve to deliver world-class stadia throughout Sydney, for everyone to enjoy."

Mr Greenberg said it was also pleasing to hear that Mr Foley was open to looking at all options to modernise Allianz Stadium.

"Importantly, new stadia will help support greater economic benefits for the people of New South Wales, as well as providing world-class, live sporting experiences for local, national and international fans alike," Mr Greenberg said.

"This is a landmark time for rugby league and one that will benefit generations to come."
