Wests Tigers Brydens Lawyers Academy is the Club's primary junior development squad, and has been in existence for the past decade to grow and nurture outstanding junior talent.

The Brydens Lawyers Academy is a program aimed at developing players from junior representative sides within the Club's geographical footprint. It has been a highly successful pathway in the past with players such as David Nofoaluma, Luke Brooks and Esan Marsters all coming through the academy system.

The program runs for around four months following the end of the junior representative season, with the Academy side playing a number of games against other junior representative academy teams.

2018 BRYDENS LAWYERS ACADEMY PROGRAM

In 2018, the Brydens Lawyers Academy program reaches new heights with 56 players across the Balmain, Western Suburbs and Group 6 regions selected to take part in the program for 15-18 year olds.

Further selections will be made after the Wests Tigers Challenge on June 8-9. Squad selections have been made on 2018 Junior Representative games and training as well as the CUBs Physical Testing Combine.

The squad will take part in a series of games, education sessions, core skills and gym programs to help develop players and to provide an insight into what the structures are like at an elite NRL Club.

Wests Tigers Life Member and five-eighth Benji Marshall will coach a number of sessions for the program, after working with the Balmain and Western Suburbs junior representative teams throughout the year.

The program also acts as a development program for coaching staff, with coaches from the Western Suburbs and Balmain junior representative programs taking part.

The 2018 Academy class will begin on Tuesday, June 5 with a player and parent induction night, as well as screening and testing for the 56 players. Teams will play games against the West Coast Pirates, NRL Victoria and Cronulla Sharks, with venues spread across Concord Oval, Hillier Oval and Milton Park.

At the completion of the academy program, a select group of players will be invited to the club's three-day intensive camp in the October school holidays, designed to further grow the next generation of NRL talent.

Wests Tigers would like to congratulate all 56 players selected for the 2018 Brydens Lawyers Academy.
