Wests Tigers Results: Round 11

It was a mixed weekend for Wests Tigers and the club's associated teams in Round 11 with tough defeats and impressive wins across the respective grades.

Ivan Cleary's NRL side suffered a 16-2 defeat to the surging Penrith Panthers on Thursday night to just remain inside the top eight, but it was better news for Brett Hodgson's Intrust Super Premiership boys, who made it two wins in a row with another strong defensive showing to down the Panthers 18-10.

Craig Wilson's Jersey Flegg side delivered a much-improved showing against the high-flying Panthers to trail just 8-6 with 20 minutes to go in their contest, but ran out of steam against the competition heavyweights, with the visitors running out comprehensive 32-6 winners in the end at Leichhardt Oval.

They'll face a tough test again in Round 12 as they take on the second-placed Cronulla Sharks at Lidcombe Oval ahead of the Western Suburbs Magpies' early awaited return to the ground against Newtown.

Wests Tigers NRL side will wrap up next weekend on Sunday afternoon with an important clash against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in what will also feature as the Beanies for Brain Cancer Round.

Wests Tigers Touch Football teams also kicked off the inaugural NRL Touch Premiership on Friday against Parramatta, with the Men's team defeating the Eels 7-4 and the women narrowly going down 4-3.

Their next game will be in Round 19 prior to Wests Tigers clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
