In partnership with Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) and WestConnex, Wests Tigers are proud to have launched the club's first Autism Friendly Room at ANZ Stadium, providing a controlled space for children on the autism spectrum.
The Autism Friendly Room provided a controlled space for children on the autism spectrum, and their parents and carers, to experience an NRL game — something they may not have been able to do otherwise.
Wests Tigers provided the first of those opportunities at the Easter Monday game at ANZ Stadium, with an Autism Friendly Room made available for Aspect students and their families. The room was also available at the Bulldogs game and will be present for all remaining Wests Tigers home games at the venue.
Aspect is Australia's largest service provider for people on the autism spectrum, with their specialised, evidence informed schools program the largest in the world.
Aspect also provide additional services that include information and advice, diagnostic assessments, behaviour support, parent and family support, and adult programs.
Wests Tigers would like to thank proud community partner WestConnex for their continued support of the club's community programs and in particular, the Autism Friendly Rooms.
