Wests Tigers winger Corey Thompson says his side's can't afford to get drawn in to permutations and possibilities as they look to keep their finals hopes alive in 2018.

A last start win over the St. George-Illawarra Dragons has kept Ivan Cleary's side in touching distance of the top eight with just seven weeks remaining in the regular season, but Thompson was adamant the focus for his team was simply to keep winning and not focus too much about the numbers of it all.

"We got a great win on the weekend against a top side and we've just got to keep winning," he said.

"We can't focus on the teams around us.

"As long as we keep winning, we should finish the season in the right spot.

"We still believe in ourselves to make the finals."

2018 Match Highlights: Rd.18, Dragons vs. Wests Tigers

One of just three players to feature in every game for Wests Tigers this year, Thompson said the arrival of Robbie Farah and his combination with Benji Marshall had breathed new life in to the team this year.

"I hadn't met Robbie before he rejoined the club," Thompson admitted.

"I found myself just sitting on the win and watching him work. He sees everything and if you run with him and support him through the ruck, you just know good things are going to happen.

"You just push with him and pick a hole to run through and he just makes the right decision.

"You could see that on the weekend — when Robbie jumped out and Moses [Mbye] just pushed through the next hole and went straight through and I was just in the right spot to finish that try off.

""I think it's helping us a lot, having him back alongside Benji. Brooksy's playing really well off the back of those two so I think the spine's working really well together and it's helping us."
