Wests Tigers forward Ben Matulino has been named the Lantrak Man of the Match from his side's Round 20 clash against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.

In a disappointing performance by his side, Matulino was a standout in the middle — delivering arguably his finest performance in Wests Tigers colours in a bid to try and get his team over the line.

Playing 49 minutes, the former Kiwi international finished the game with an impressive 156 metres from 14 runs, with only Michael Chee Kam (166 metres) chalking up more metres amongst the forwards.

Matulino produced two offloads and missed just one of his 24 attempted tackles, all while not conceding a single error or penalty throughout the match.

Having rattled George Burgess last week with one of the tackles of the season, Matulino also perhaps bettered his effort with a shot on Lachlan Lewis that will no doubt be one of the best shots of the year.

It wasn't quite enough to lift his teammates to the win in the end, but it was a strong showing from Matulino nonetheless and one that will certainly provide plenty of positives heading in to Round 21.
