Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale side bounced back in to the winners circle with a 34-10 victory over the Canberra Raiders on Saturday in an otherwise tough weekend of results for the club.
After two consecutive defeats to the in-form Knights and Steelers over the past fortnight, the result was an important one for Wests Tigers to get back on track and move inside the top four with just two weeks of the regular season remaining.
Wests Tigers will face the bottom-of-the-ladder Bulldogs next weekend.
Saturday marked a momentous day for the club's women's program overall, however, with the first ever senior Wests Tigers women's team taking to the field with the start of the 2019 Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership. Taking on a strong CRL Newcastle side, Wests Tigers had their moments but couldn't quite the most of them — going down 20-0 in the end despite plenty of positives.
Wests Tigers will look to record their first win next week when they take on a Brothers side who were thrashed 48-4 by Cabramatta in their first game.
The club's four junior representative teams didn't fare any better in Round 7 with Balmain and Western Suburbs both going down in their respective Harold Matthews and SG Ball matches. With two matches remaining in the season, only Balmain are a shot at the finals — currently sitting 10th in Harold Matthews and 6th in SG Ball.
The Tigers will take on North Sydney in both competitions next weekend in Round 8 while the Magpies face off against the in-form Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
Wests Tigers three senior teams are all in action tomorrow at Campbelltown Sports Stadium with Jersey Flegg kicking off at 2:10pm AEDT, followed by the Canterbury Cup side at 3:55pm and NRL at 6:10pm as they look to make it two wins from two.
