Wests Tigers storm in to finals with demolition of Panthers

Wests Tigers Tarsha Gale have stormed in to the Tarsha Gale finals with a dominant 32-6 win over the Penrith Panthers in their final regular season game tonight at Panthers Stadium.

Starting the game under wet conditions, Wests Tigers started the match on fire with Mamana Alatini blitzing past the Panthers defence with an early double.

Emily Curtain made two successful conversions to give the visitors a 12-0 lead.

Heading into the hard hitting third, it didn’t take long until Wests Tigers were across the try line again with Litiana Smith-Warwick passing by Panthers defence to go down the left edge. Sophie Curtin then chalked up a quick fire double, with sister Emily again adding the extras to give Wests Tigers a commanding 28-0 lead.

Heading in to the final third, Wests Tigers were in again when a cross field kick from Curtain found Jessica Whelan unmarked on the edge, before Emelia Kaafi bagged Penrith's first try right before full-time to add some respectability to the score.

Wests Tigers head in to the finals next week with a top four position confirmed, with their opponent to be confirmed after the completion of the Round 9 action.
