Magpies out to respond after bye

Western Suburbs Magpies will be looking to establish some consistency this weekend as they take on the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at Panthers Stadium on Saturday morning.

Following from the competition-wide bye in Round 9, this week is shaping up as a big return with a NSWRL reserve grade Magic Round style weekend.

Three games of football will take place at Panthers Stadium in Penrith on Saturday followed by three games at Henson Park in Marrickville on Sunday.

Both Western Suburbs and the Bulldogs head in to the game with four wins from their last eight matches and having both experienced defeat prior to the bye. Both on the edge of the top eight, a win for Wests could see them move as high as third on the ladder with Coach Brett Hodgson set to field an extremely strong squad.

Russell Packer and David Nofoaluma have both been named for the clash, along with Dylan Smith, Tyson Gamble, Sam McIntyre and Robbie Rochow. 2019 Development Players Kane Bradley and Alex Seyfarth are also included in the squad, while Watson Heleta makes his return from injury in the centres.

After being excluded from the final 17 on Thursday night, NRL squad members Paul Momirovski, Elijah Taylor, Luke Garner and Oliver Clark could all be included in the side to take on the Bulldogs, while Jacob Liddle may also come in to the final side today after sitting out the loss to Melbourne as an unused interchange.

Bulldogs Head Coach Brad Henderson has confirmed Christian Crichton, Morgan Harper and Renouf To'omaga have all been named following their appearance in the NSW Residents team last weekend, while Kerrod Holland has been named in the centres. Alex Seve replaces the injured Brandon Wakeham (back).
