Wests Tigers Results: Round 11

It was a weekend of mixed news for Wests Tigers, with strong performances not always producing the desired outcome in the end as the club's NRL side went down to South Sydney.

Michael Maguire's side battled hard against the ladder-leading Rabbitohs but with some tough calls and ill-discipline costing them at the key moments, were unable to mount a proper comeback in the second half and went down 32-16 in the end.

There were better results on Sunday, however, as a strong Western Suburbs side got the job done against South Sydney at Redfern Oval to hand the cardinal and myrtle their first home defeat of the Canterbury Cup competition, while the Magpies also recorded a victory fifth consecutive victory in Ron Massey Cup.

The club's NRL Touch Premiership sides also began their season on Saturday with the men's team triumphing over the Warriors while the women went down in a close match as both teams look to build off their Grand Final achievements in 2018.

Following a two-week bye, the club's Jersey Flegg side will return to action this weekend as they face the Dragons on Saturday at Leichhardt Oval while the Canterbury Cup side will also take on the Red V on Sunday at Jubilee Oval.

The Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership remain on the bye in Round 12.
